Khalifa International stadium, the oldest and most iconic among all the others in Qatar, received a complete refit for the @fifaworldcup . The magnificent dual arches were always its most recognizable feature. A stretched canopy was added later below these arches and has become another distinguishable feature of the stadium as well.

Al Janoub stadium’s captivating design by @zaha.hadid.architects reflects the wind-filled sails of Qatar’s traditional dhow boats in tribute to the Arabian pearl fishing boat.
